Let's write and sing our own CHRISTMAS CAROL!!!

Queridos amigos:
Algunas personas me habéis pedido ideas y sugerencias para cantar esta Navidad en el colegio.
Ante todo os diría que podemos usar nuestra imaginación y hasta quizás escribir nuestro propio CHRISTMAS CAROL con los niños :). Utilizando el vocabulario básico que penséis enseñar este año en la escuela, ¿por qué no idear vuestro propio villancico? Será divertido y especial, además de único.


La idea consiste en utilizar una melodía de un christmas carol ya conocido, pero transformar su letra en algo más personal para vosotros y vuestros niños. ¿Qué os parece?, ¿nos atrevemos? :-D.


Os propongo algunas melodías fáciles, como las siguientes:


1.- Frosty, the snowman
2.- Jingle bells
3.-Rudolph, the red nosed reindeer
4.-Santa Claus is coming to town

Ho, ho ho, Christmas is coming!!! I'm so happy to look around and see how everything is changing...
There are lights on the streets, christmas trees with different ornaments along the shopping centres and we can listen to different christmas carols...

People are changing their faces and smiling a lot,  because a new season is going to come, CHRISTMAS!!!

Thanksgiving Day is coming up!

The American Thanksgiving day is  celebrated on the 4th Thursday of November. This year it on 25th of November.


It is celebrated to give thanks to God for helping the Pilgrims of Plymouth Colony survive their first brutal winter in New England.


There is a beautiful Thanksgiving prayer for this day:


Pilgrim:a person who journeys to a sacred place for religious reasons.

Tan sólo echando un vistacillo a las imágenes que veréis en el link, os podréis hacer a la idea de lo fácil que es hacer este graciosillo murciélago de halloween.
En España, me temo que será difícil encontrar calabazas tan chiquitas, a no ser que las sembremos nosotros mismos,je,je,je.
Por ello, se me ha ocurrido cambiar la calabaza por una mandarina, que dicho sea de paso, están a la orden del día en estas fechas.

Halloween recipe: A delicious sandwich :P

Halloween is coming, and you know what? I'm afraid of ghosts and monsters...uhhhhh!!!!
I don't know if they're going to visit to me or not, but I'm frightened.


Thanks God, I've got lots of students at school who can help me or save me from these monsters :-).


Today, I want you to read this easy recipe. And... I will be happy if you try to do it at home.

SANDWICHES FUNERARIOS

Ingredientes: 2 rebanadas de pan de trigo entero 3 tajadas de jamón ahumado 1 rebanada de queso 1 cucharada de aderezo MIRACLE WHIP Dressing 1 hoja de lechuga

Elaboración:

Cubre 1 rebanada de pan con el jamón y el queso. Unta el aderezo y completa con la lechuga. Sujeta el sándwich con un palillo de dientes de plástico, si así lo deseas.

Corta el sándwich en forma de ataúd con el modelo y con un cuchillo afilado.

In fact, I've been following Mr. Duncan some months ago. He a very funny and interesting man who teaches English in a different way...
I love his videos, he's so clear ... and I really think his lessons work.


This video is ideal for teachers, because we can practice our listening skill.
Also, we can take from this some ideas for our next holidays, dont you think so? ;-)

12th of OCTOBER: HAPPY COLUMBUS DAY!!!

Hello dear friends!!,

Today I'm coming with some ideas to do with you students these days.

There are some  countries in the world that celebrate Columbus Day, to celebrate CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS' s arrival to the AMERICAS.

Some countries, such as Chile, celebrate "DÍA DE LA RAZA" on 12th of October :P while here it's a National day, also called "Día de la Hispanidad".

Anyway, the name doesn't matter. The important fact is to celebrate and practice our English  ;-).
