Hello my dear friends!! World Book Day is celebrated this 23rd April all over the world. Are you planning anything at school? Every year, students and teachers do special activities to motivate students and teach them the importance of reading... I think reading is one of the best treasures we've got in our lives. Everybody can have a book. You can buy it or take it from the libraries. Also, it's very common to find a book at a very low prize in Old Book Fairs. So... there's no excuse! We can all read a book!!! ;-D Today, I'll show you some different websites that contains audiobooks. Have you ever listened to a book and read one? Here is your opportunity! It's a great idea! don't you think so? Now you can listen to some audiostories in your car while you're driving to school!!! It is also used when doing some sports ;) Great idea then!!! :D Goodreads Kidsaudiobooks Storynory Other sites Moreover, it's interesting to download Apps with good audiobooks. This LINK gives you some ideas to be used in iOS and Android. Look!!!
Dear friends, Reading is one of the basic skills our children must acquire in the second language. We as teachers should provide them good materials to make the reading interesting and funny.
Last week I visited "La Tienda del Profesor" and I found these two books, wich are perfect for some of my students.
My friends and Look at me are bilingual books, so they can be read in both languages. The pictures are clear, beautiful and funny, so my students really love them.
Graciela Castellanos de López is the author of these two books.
Dear friends, Today I focus my searching on magazines: Educative magazines for children. Magazines help us to teach English, you know why? They help us with the different skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing, and also vocabulary.
It's a funny and different way of teaching something in English, because we motivate our students to use the new language and we show them how fun it is to do it.
I will number a list of magazines that I have found, I hope they're useful for you too. Don't forget this activity must be guided ;-)
A big hug from here! Teacher Daniela A. Ayala Molinari.
Today, 22nd of APRIL, it's celebrated Earth's Day all around the world. It's a good day to tell children the importance of being responsible and take care of the environment. I suggest you some activities to do with children because of the Earth Day: First of all you we can watch this video to make them understand why this day is so important.
Then, we can read this story and ask them some questions:
Nowadays, we're lucky because thanks to the internet we can find lots of resources; Resources that really help us in our daily teaching routine.
One of the best things for children are fairy tales, specially if they're told with music, voices, images, etc...
Also, it's good that you teachers subscribe to some youtube channels so as to get the newest videos on your email.
There're lots of people who have channels and add videos that can be used in your lessons.
Just try to write some topic words on youtube and you will find what you are looking for.
This is just an example, but at the same time a good help for you all when telling stories.
Hi!! How are you? Today it seems that spring has left us for a few days... we're in autumn again ;) hehehe. I don't know why, but today I'm in the mood to talk about CORNERS in the ENGLISH CLASS. Let's start today by the READING CORNER.
It's interesting to have a place in our class where our students can find English books, and show their interest for this second language.
We can use this corner specially when students finish their homework, an exam or whatever other task we are doing at this moment in the class.
Sometimes, we forget corners... and we leave them just for infant education. But... I think it's a terrible mistake.
We can prepare a specific space at the back of the class, showing the books on boxes. We can also label the boxes depending on the topic of our books...These are just some basic ideas I've got, you know?
What do you think about it? I think we can change things together... there's no need to have the books all the time in the library, don't you think so? Would you like to have a READING CORNER in your class? How can you organize it?
Please, send me your opinions writing some comments at the end of the message :) Thank you very much,
How are you doing? Today I feel really well, because yesterday we were celebrating Saint Valentine's Day.
Have you ever flown on an autogiro? The experience is fantastic, I think I will repeat it again someday...
Today, I suggest you to have a look at this wonderful website. It's a nice website where you can find lots of stories. But this time, the stories are gorgeous, because they tell the story using flash and movements and also sound.
I don't want to tell you more things about STORYTELLING, I just want you to CLICK on the link and see what it is about, ok?
After doing so, please, let me know, what you think about this post.
Hello!!! Next 12th of November, we're going to the theatre in Toledo. Before that, we will prepare tasks and games in class, which are in relation to the play. Have a look at this beautiful poster and imagine what we can see there :)
See you tomorrow!!! Teacher Daniela. and remember... Nobody is perfect!!!:P
Good Morning!! We're in the middle of May, practically finishing the third term. I know you're trying to finish the contents and objectives proposed for this year but I'm sure you'll have time to do something different on you English lessons, will you?
Stories allow us to create and travel to a fantastic world without moving from where we really are. It's something magic and with children it always works.
This time, I've found a website where our older students can create their own story and then print it. Check this LINK and tell me your experience.
during these days I was remembering a list of stories that I used to be told by my daddy .
Once I wrote the list I chose this one to be the first one on this term.
Today, I've told this story using a BIG BOOK. 3 year old students love the story, the pictures and the activities proposed after that.
It's so amazing to see these youngsters laugh and enjoy the English lessons...
This is my motivation, their beautiful and happy faces ;-).
I've found a nice and well adapted story for these children on youtube and of course, I want to share it with you too.
It's not adapted for 3 year old studets but, you can use the pictures to tell the story using your owns and without using the sound given.
And... for everyone, this wonderful ebook, that can be used in the classroom too. I will use it with the interactive digital board ;-)
No sólo escucharlos, representarlos, colorearlos, hacer manualidades, etc.
Dear teachers and friends, Today I want to show you a wonderful site to be used on your daily lessons. We all know how important reading and telling stories is. Have a look at this website and tell me what you think about it. I'll use it on my lessons too.
It's perfect for the interactive digital board, you see? :P
Have a nice Thursday!! Love, Daniela A. Ayala Molinari.
Hi there!! I've found a marvellous story interactive book, that I'm sure you'll love it... It's a story about a mouse, told in a very speacial way, using different rhymes ... Have a look at it and enjoy!! Love, Daniela.
