Learning the ABC and colours!

Learning the alphabet and the colours are the basic things our students should know in the first term of 1st grade Primary Education.

Today, I'd like you test this on called: Color by Letter.

A woman says the instructions. In the right column there're two letters and in the left side you can read and choose the different colours.

Once you've finished the exercise, the word is spelled.

I think this interactive activity is good for 5-6 year old students.

I hope you all love it!!

Do not forget to show this activity in the whiteboard. 

Coloring the star there will be totally different!!

5 "Back to School" Kindergarten Stories.

"Mummy, Mummy, I'd like to hear a new story,pleaseeee... "How many times have you heard this on a child's voice? Although you're a mum/dad or not, I know you've lived this situation at least once :D.

Children and young learners need stories to feel confident, to grow up and to feel how creative life could be. So... I've been thinking about the different stories my parents told me when I was a very young girl, and I can say that I still remember some of them...

Today I'm not going to tell you these stories, but I'll share 5 different videos with beautiful and great stories you can use in your English class during the first weeks of school.

Is it a smile in your face? Good!!! :D I'm sure you also remember some of these nice momentos when we were in the kindergarten or in the first years of school, don't you?

Our students are looking for a teacher who motivates them in the English learning process and this can surely start throughout a story.

Have you ever felt like a child? I have! and today is a good starting point to repeat this feeling.

They are all beautiful stories ;) . Let's enjoy watching them!

World Book Day is celebrated  this 23rd April  all over the world. 
Are you planning anything at school?

Every year, students and teachers do special activities to motivate students and teach them the importance of reading...

I think reading is one of the best treasures we've got in our lives. Everybody can have a book. You can buy it or take it from the libraries. Also, it's very common to find a book at a very low prize in Old Book Fairs.
So... there's no excuse! We can all read a book!!! ;-D

Today, I'll show you some different websites that contains audiobooks. Have you ever listened to a book and read one? Here is your opportunity!
It's a great idea! don't you think so?

Now you can listen to some audiostories in your car while you're driving to school!!! It is also  used when doing some sports ;) Great idea then!!! :D

Let's practice English in London!!!!! 

FERIA EDUCATIVA BRITÁNICA: 23 y 24 de OCTUBRE 2013.

VEN A LA FERIA DE EDUCACIÓN BRITÁNICA:  MADRID Y BARCELONA

Estimados amigos:

Estamos de enhorabuena pues durante este mes están teniendo lugar varias ferias importantes con un referente común: LA EDUCACIÓN.

Esta semana ha tenido lugar SIMO y hasta hoy sigue la feria CIEB.

Pero hoy os escrito para invitaros a la Feria Educativa Británica. Esta es la mayor feria europea de educación británica. Es organizada por el British Council y tendrá lugar durante los días 23-24 de Octubre en MADRID, en el Hotel Eurobuilding y el 25 de octubre en Barcelona, en el Hotel Constanza

Universidades, colegios, institutos, escuelas de idiomas y muchísimas sesiones de información convierten esta Feria en el referente que necesitará cualquier persona (ya sea profesional, padre o alumno) interesada en estudiar en el Reino Unido.  Como profesores de inglés, es posible que nuestros alumnos nos pregunten sobre educación en el Reino Unido. Así que esta sería la ocasión ideal para que nos informáramos.

  Todos los asistentes recibirán una publicación con los datos más relevantes sobre la educación en el Reino Unido.

  Puedes ver el programa completo e inscribirte en http://www.britishcouncil.org/spain/feria-estudiar-en-el-reino-unido-2013.

Let's Clan for kids: A perfect way of learning English at home

Hello dear friends,

I'm here again with a new article that I'm sure will be interesting for you too.

 I have read about that TVE with the help of British Council will create an English space on T.V for kids, Let's Clan. It's going to be available next autumn, after summer, so we must pay attention to all the changes. 

I have been thinking about this idea for years, and now it's a reality, great for you!!

I'm happy to see that British Council  is going to create worksheets to be done with parents, I'm sure they will help families a lot.

Moreover, I consider a fantastic idea to include  Peter & Jack in this new project. Manuel Higueras has demonstrated to be a perfect English teacher, an amazing musician that always knows how to be in touch with children and how to involve them in the English learning process. Congratulations Manuel!!! ;D

So Characters like Peppa Pig, Pocoyó, El pequeño Reino and Maya, are going to be in English. It would be the best way to make parents and children be sat down together to watch T.V and have and incredible time learning a new language, English!!!. 

Also, parents will have a guide to improve vocabulary and other skills on their kids.

Of course, I think they will need someone who knows the language, a good teacher at school for example, but this is a helping tool to change our world and make English be part of it in a natural way and not as an isolated thing, don't you think so?

How to learn the colours through mandalas

Gines Ciudad Real from Orientación Andújar, has created this activity about COLOURS. I always say that mandalas are a good way of learning in the very first stages. 

We as teachers, can work on attention, psicomotor skills, creativity... and at the same time we can praise them with beautiful mandalas to learn a new language, English.

While they're coloring, they're learning and having fun.

That's the essence of a good activity.

THANKSGIVING DAY!! Part 1.

Hello!! Next Thursday we will celebrate Thanksgiving Day. It's a great moment to teach our students this American tradition, don't you think?

Ten little Indians!!!
