ScienceNetLinks: A great website to find educative apps ;)

Hi hello!!!

Here I am again with great news! My baby was born last 25th March, and this is the reason why I haven't written anything during the last months. So sorry for that, but he still needs us almost the 24 hours a day.

Anyway, I found this website and in this great relax moment I decided to share the link with you.

You all know how good mobile devices are in education and how I love them, don't you?
Today, I invite you all to visit this website: ScienceNetLinks.
It has a lot of apps to be used in the science class, and they're organised according to age, level and use.

I will try with some of them!!

Clic on the LINK to see the website.

See you in a next post then!

A big hug,
teacher Daniela Ayala.

5 "Back to School" Kindergarten Stories.

"Mummy, Mummy, I'd like to hear a new story,pleaseeee... "How many times have you heard this on a child's voice? Although you're a mum/dad or not, I know you've lived this situation at least once :D.

Children and young learners need stories to feel confident, to grow up and to feel how creative life could be. So... I've been thinking about the different stories my parents told me when I was a very young girl, and I can say that I still remember some of them...

Today I'm not going to tell you these stories, but I'll share 5 different videos with beautiful and great stories you can use in your English class during the first weeks of school.

Is it a smile in your face? Good!!! :D I'm sure you also remember some of these nice momentos when we were in the kindergarten or in the first years of school, don't you?

Our students are looking for a teacher who motivates them in the English learning process and this can surely start throughout a story.

Have you ever felt like a child? I have! and today is a good starting point to repeat this feeling.

They are all beautiful stories ;) . Let's enjoy watching them!

Ready, steady, Go!!!

In a next episode I promise to record my own story!!;-)
Kisses and hugs,
Teacher Daniela A. Ayala Molinari.

See you!!!!

Reading Time: Graciela Castellano's books found at La Tienda del Profesor

Suggestions to be used with our students
Dear friends,
Reading is one of the basic skills our children must acquire in the second language.
We as teachers should provide them good materials to make the reading interesting and funny.

Last week I visited "La Tienda del Profesor" and I found these two books, wich are perfect for some of my students.

My friends and Look at me are bilingual books, so they can be read in both languages.
The pictures are clear, beautiful and funny, so my students really love them.

Graciela Castellanos de López is the author of these two books.

Daniela A. Ayala M.

Fairy tales on youtube

Hello everybody!!

Nowadays, we're lucky because thanks to the internet we can find lots of resources; Resources that really help us in our daily teaching routine.

One of the best things for children are fairy tales, specially if they're told with music, voices, images, etc...

Also, it's good that you teachers subscribe to some youtube channels so as to get the newest videos on your email.
There're lots of people who have channels and add videos that can be used in your lessons.

Just try to write some topic words on youtube and you will find what you are looking for.

This is just an example, but at the same time a good help for you all when telling stories.

Enjoy!!

Reading Corners

A BEAUTIFUL READING CORNER IN THE CLASS

Hi!! How are you? Today it seems that spring has left us for a few days... we're in autumn again ;) hehehe.
I don't know why, but today I'm in the mood to talk about CORNERS in the ENGLISH CLASS.
Let's start today by the READING CORNER.

It's interesting to have a place in our class where our students can find English books, and show their interest for this second language.

We can  use this corner specially when students finish their homework, an exam or whatever other task we are doing at this moment in the class.

Sometimes, we forget corners... and we leave them just for infant education. But... I think it's a terrible mistake.

We can prepare a specific space at the back of the class, showing the books on boxes. We can also label the boxes depending on the topic of our books...These are just some basic ideas I've got, you know?

What do you think about it?  I think we can change things together... there's no need to have the books all the time in the library, don't you think so? Would you like to have a READING CORNER in your class?
How can you organize it?

Please, send me your opinions writing some  comments at the end of the message :)
Thank you very much,

Take care,

Teacher Daniela.

Good Morning!
How are you doing? Today I feel really well, because yesterday we were celebrating Saint Valentine's Day.
Have you ever flown on an autogiro? The experience is fantastic, I think I will repeat it again someday...

Today, I suggest you to have a look at this wonderful website. It's a nice website where you can find lots of stories. But this time, the stories are gorgeous, because they tell the story using flash and movements and also sound.

I don't want to tell you more things about STORYTELLING, I just want you to CLICK on the link and see what it is about, ok?

After doing so, please, let me know, what you think about this post.

Lots of hugs and valentine's kisses,
Enjoy the weekend!!!

The three billy goats

Dear friends,
during these days I was remembering a list of stories that I used to be told by my daddy .
Once I wrote the list I chose this one to be the first one on this term.
Today, I've told this story using a BIG BOOK. 3 year old students love the story, the pictures and the activities proposed after that.
It's so amazing to see these youngsters laugh and enjoy the English lessons...
This is my motivation, their beautiful and happy faces ;-).

I've found a nice and well adapted story for these children on youtube and of course, I want to share it with you too.
It's not adapted for 3 year old studets but, you can use the pictures to tell the story using your owns and without using the sound given.

Aquí os dejo un estupendo link con ideas para crear tu propia Unidad Didáctica y actividades para el cuento:
THREE BILLY GOATS

And... for everyone, this wonderful ebook, that can be used in the classroom too. I will use it with the interactive digital board ;-)

Fairy tales for children

No me importa demasiado lo que opinen los políticos sobre estos cuentos clásicos...sólo me interesa lo que disfrutan los niños escuchando estos cuentos y lo valioso que es para ellos, escucharlos también en Inglés.
No sólo escucharlos, representarlos, colorearlos, hacer manualidades, etc.

Daniela A. Ayala M.

LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD

Hi!!! Little red riding hood is one of my favourite fairy tales I've ever read.
This is why this year I'm going to give you a surprise, but you have to wait until next Friday... :P

I've found this interesting link, where you can listen to the story and ask your children to do some exercies. I think it's focused to the first cycle of P.E, but you can adapt it and use in with the toodlers too.

I hope you enjoy the link,

Spot: Spot's winter sports

Winter has started and for that reason I've chosen this nice cartoon.
Children love stories and love cartoons too. We can introduce the new season: WINTER with this great video.
There are other SPOT films available on youtube. But I promise you to add them here very soon.
There are also some coloring pages on the internet that you can use as a complement of this video.

Enjoy and thanks for reading me!!
