SEVEN EASY HALLOWEEN ACTIVITIES TO BE DONE WITH YOUR KIDS!!!

Hello everybody! October is almost finished and one of our favorite festivals is coming: HALLOWEEN.
Have you planned what to do with your kids? if you haven't decided yet what to do, do not worry, because today I'm giving to you some great and easy ideas...

ONE: MUSICAL GAMES:

Normally, kids love movement, action, and fun; for this reason I have chosen three musical games you can teach them in the class, before doing some crafts. Are you ready?

TWO: KINDERGARDEN CRAFTS
Moreover, children need to manipulate and create, and this is what we will do with some crafts found on the website parents.com .

THREE :MONSTER RINGS

For those kids who are older, I've found a beautiful idea: Monster rings!!! Have a look at "Easy Peasy and Fun" and check all the ideas they've got HERE.

FOUR: MATCHING GAME

I'm lucky, 'cause I've found the cutest Halloween cards!! There is a matching game that you will love, and it's free! Here is the link to Simpleeverydaymom.

FIVE: HALLOWEEN PUPPETS

But of course, I have to give a special mention to The Glitter Teacher. She is amazing and she is always creating the best materials for our English lessons, and I'm sure you will choose some of her printables for this Halloween.

SIX: CLIL HALLOWEEN ACTIVITIES

Then, if you want to practice maths or science, I've got a special for you.

These counting cards are really good, it's a pity it's not easy for Spanish teachers and parents to find these counters, as they're expensive and not common, but we can try with clay balls or other cardboard objects, right? These ones are from The Kindergarden Connection.

After this, I may say science is always considered on Halloween units :-D. Just have a look at this worksheet from Supplyme!!

SEVEN:  TIME FOR A HALLOWEEN RHYME!

To sum up, its well appreciated to sing and play with rhymes and Halloween is a good day to do so.
Using this free printable resource, you will let the kids create their song and rhyme and they will have lots of fun sticking the pumpkins on their place. It'll be great if you laminate it and use velcro dots for the pumpkins.
This activity is from Totschooling, a website with loads of resources and ideas that ca be printed freely. I normally use it in my lessons and with my little child Manuel.

So, well, thats all for this Halloween, but I'm sure you will share these ideas and give me yours!!
Be good or bad but enjoy a lot!
Kisses and hugs,
Daniela A. Ayala Molinari.

How to learn the colours through mandalas

Gines Ciudad Real from Orientación Andújar, has created this activity about COLOURS. I always say that mandalas are a good way of learning in the very first stages.

We as teachers, can work on attention, psicomotor skills, creativity... and at the same time we can praise them with beautiful mandalas to learn a new language, English.
While they're coloring, they're learning and having fun.

That's the essence of a good activity.
You can find more mandalas in this LINK

I have to thank Ginés for this good resource for our English lessons.

Have a nice week!!

Let's enjoy with our first week activities at School!

Hello!! I'm so happy! I have started school today at a new school and I feel really well :P I'm sure this year everything is gonna be perfect too! How about you? How was your first day at school?

During this week I've been thinking about some basic activities to be practiced with children during the first weeks of school, just to get in touch with them and make them feel confident with us.

It's very important to think about some tasks before children come back to school.
Are you ready ?

Today I propose this game for the first days at school. It will help you know what level your students have as well as having fun with them in the English class.
Have a look at each of the photos and click on them to read more information about this game.
Everything I show you here was bought at La Tienda del Profesor, in Madrid.
But... you can also buy things through the internet, in case you are not from Madrid :)

There're also avaiable other levels, visit the website or click in the photo to know more info about this game.

On the other hand, you can also use SIGHT WORD WHEELS , A great resource to refresh vocabulary and practice a little bit more the English pronunciation and vocabulary.
It's a printable book that really helps you prepare different tasks and topics.
Click in the photo and read more information about this useful English resource.

Students love wheels, so I'm sure it'll work perfectly with your students.

I hope these ideas really help you to plan these first weeks at school. If you need anything just let me know writing a message in each article.

Have a fantastic week and remember to be as happy as possible!!

Teaching English with Maths crafts

Hello everybody! I've just came back from Holidays, We've been in Scadinavia visiting different and beautiful cities there. So now, as I have rested for a while, I've got a bag full of great ideas for you and your children :-D

English can be taught in many different ways. Today I'm going to concentrate on maths. It's important to transmit the information in a funny and easy way to get the main goal in our students: communicate in the English language.

As you can see in this photo, there is a number cut down. You can decorate it with stickers and also write the same number inside the big three :-).

Moreover, you are teaching maths using crafts, isn't it funny and different?
After finishing this project you can prepare a game with the numbers and why not? use them to decorate the classroom or your children's bedroom...

I have found this idea in this LINK, have a look at this to look for more information!!!

Have a nice week, let's start August with a big SMILE!!
Love,
teacher Daniela A. Ayala M.
